How enforcement works

PillarShield uses two types of checks:

  • Deterministic checks (PII regex, credential patterns, prohibited terms) always block when triggered. Same input, same result, every time.
  • AI checks (tone, clarity, moderation) evaluate content and return a confidence score. Below your certainty threshold, they warn. Above it, they block. You control the threshold (on Protect and Managed).

If the AI service itself is unavailable, it never blocks. Only deterministic rules block in a failure scenario.

Definitions

What is a "content save"?

A content save is any save or publish action in your CMS that triggers a PillarShield evaluation. Draft saves that don't trigger evaluation don't count.

What does "audit evidence" mean?

PillarShield records allow/block/override decisions server-side, including key metadata needed to support investigations and reporting. Audit logs show what the system decided and why. They are not a substitute for legal advice or a full compliance program.

What happens if I exceed my content saves?

You add a usage block (Core: +1,000 saves/month, Protect: +2,000 saves/month). No surprise overages, no penny-per-save billing.
